Fall Food Drive, Nov 2 - 30
11/5/2026 9:12 am
Food insecurity in Massachusetts has more than doubled since 2019, reaching a record high of 40% of households (approximately 1.1 million to 1.12 million households) in 2025, according to the Greater Boston Food Bank.
What is food insecurity? It's when people don't have enough to eat and don't know where their next meal will come from. Approximately 56% of food-insecure households rely on community food programs like food pantries or mobile markets.
What can we do about this? Donate if you’re able. For the month of November, we are running an LS Food Drive in partnership with the LSPO. House offices will be collection sites where you can donate canned/boxed food/dry goods (see list). Donations will be collected and distributed to the Lincoln, Sudbury, and Greater Boston Food Pantries.
Where does Advisory fit into this Food Drive? In December, we will be running our annual House Cup Challenge where houses will compete against each other in weekly challenges to win bragging rights. The house that donates the most items will earn an additional 50 points for their House team. We will tally each house’s donations weekly in November, with points being awarded to the highest donating house(s).
Donations will be accepted beginning Monday, Nov. 2 to Nov. 30th.
