We would like to extend an invitation to members of the community to an upcoming student assembly at L-S, which will be given to 9th and 11th grade students.
On Wednesday, February 4th, the class of 2027 will take part in a Celebrating Identity & Inclusion assembly, which we would like to open to community members. The assembly will run from 10:30-11:45 in the L-S Auditorium and guests are welcome to join us from the balcony. Please REGISTER HERE and then sign in at the main office when you arrive.
Our keynote presenter,Edward Walker—Grade 9 Administrator at Worcester Technical High School; Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion consultant, and parent of two former LS students —will present on the following subject: Difference Doesn’t Mean Disagreement and Disagreement Doesn’t Mean Division.
In every school, people come from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives and sometimes those differences lead to disagreements which can lead to division. But strong school communities know how to handle disagreement without disrespect, drama, or division. This keynote invites students to explore what it really means to coexist even when opinions differ, whether those differences are social, political, or personal. We will break down the anatomy of a difficult conversation. Through real-life scenarios, honest discussion, and moments of reflection, students will learn how to listen with empathy, communicate with respect, and work toward shared goals: a stronger, safer, and more connected LS community.
