LSPO provides occasional refreshments throughout the year, as well as the food for the staff prior to Back to School Night and at the End of the Year Staff Luncheon.

Beautifying the area around LS, this group meets 4-5 times a year to water, weed, plant and mulch the island beds near LS. No gardening experience necessary.

Help with mailings in the front office, provide clerical assistance to the House Assistants, and other jobs to help the L-S Staff.

During midyear exams (3rd week of January) help a teacher proctor an exam room during the morning (8-11am), afternoon (11.30-2.30pm), of overtime (exams that go over the previous time frames) shifts.

Assist with sign-ups, which take place in October, outside the Career Center. One parent needed per time slot (8-11am, and 11-2pm) each day.

Help provide support to the LSRHS METCO program, students, parents and staff. Help is needed to create and maintain connections among Boston, Lincoln and Sudbury families, through the planning of fun social events, fundraising efforts and assistance with special events such as orientation day and awards dinner.

Tutors are needed to help students with writing, editing and organizational skills (organizing binders, planning time, etc.) Monday-Friday time slots can be scheduled based on your availability..

The Lincoln-Sudbury Friends of Music is a parent-led organization dedicated to providing funding, programs, and opportunities which complement and extend the instrumental and vocal music curriculum at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. We raise funds, provide logistical support, publicize music events, and advocate for a strong, vibrant program within the Lincoln-Sudbury community.

The LS Rugby Team and LS Frisbee Team need trainers (EMTs, Nurses, or Doctors) to attend their games during the week. Rugby games run from late March to early June, and Frisbee runs throughout the fall and winter.

Troubleshooting, maintenance, installing new software, working with student tech team, and supervising the computer lab.

The Greening of L-S: work with in-house staff and students. Ideas and topics include: researching potential for geo-thermal drilling, solar panels, Mass Tech grants, and other grants. Re-energize and help with recycling programs. The Environmental Club and Advisors Lisa Weiss and Eleanor Burke need parents to help with green initiatives such as no-idling campaign, carpooling efforts, and 350.org events.

Work with staff and/or students to reach out to corporations for expertise and resources beneficial to L-S curriculum and activities. (For example, the current Raytheon/L-S Robotics team connection).

At times, teachers may have people come in to talk about real-world work that applies to or develops from the material students learn in school. Some examples include a lawyer coming to a law class to talk about contracts, an engineer to talk about CAD applications, a psychologist sharing insights into child development, an author who could speak to both the writing process and the challenges of getting published, or a banker to speak to students about checking accounts.
